Downs with Love
We are delighted to be touring "Downs with Love" this Autumn. The play tells the story of Beth who has a new support worker, Tracey. One night they go to the pub to hear Mark, a local singer. Beth falls for Mark. Mark falls for Tracey. A fun and challenging production that packs a punch!
We will be announcing the venues soon but keep an eye out for it. Casting will be completed in the Summer.
Cutting Edge Theatre is delighted to finally announce that we have been given the rights to the 1940's novel "Now, Voyager" by Olive Higgins Prouty. We are delighted to announce the launch of our first Young Company of learning disabled artists. Aged 18-25 years, they are a lively and talented group of young people who are eager to learn more about the performing arts. This is one of the steps in our ladder structure of working towards equal access to the performing arts.
This is a pilot project for one year funded by Creative Scotland where the participants will learn skills in acting, movement, music, singing and acting for camera. We are in the midst of applying for funding to continue this company.

About Cutting Edge Theatre
Cutting Edge Theatre was formed in 1995 by Suzanne Lofthus with the aim of making a difference in people’s lives through transformational theatre. At the heart of our work is a desire to make a positive change in society, to leave a creative legacy and to enable those we connect with to access, create and participate in the arts and creative industries.
Brought together by our common passion for the arts and our trust in their power to effect positive change, Cutting Edge Theatre believes that everyone has value and creative potential that needs mentoring, encouragement and collaboration.
For over 25 years Cutting Edge Theatre has been involved in a range of projects and theatre productions in various communities across Scotland and beyond, including Malawi, Zimbabwe, USA, Italy and Brazil, enabling mainly people who are marginalised in various ways to access, create and participate in the arts and creative industries.
As a creative organisation which focuses on working with and for those who share one or more protected characteristics defined by the Equality Act 2010, we are governed by our revised cohesive strategy. Our strategy includes a step by step, joined-up approach for growing the capacity and enabling the progress within the arts and creative industries for all of those we work with. We love seeing smiles of happiness, hearing communal laughter and watching those we have supported go on to achieve so much more!
