INSPIRE is the term for our work in the disability sector and is part of our “ladder strategy” to ensure equal access for all in the performing arts.
All workshops provided are free thanks to our funders.

In person sessions are held in Edinburgh, Fife or Aberdeen ( full location details available on forms) and premises are fully accessible.
Please note all our sessions are for those who identify as disabled / learning disabled and / or autistic.
The Programme
Drop In Drama Sessions Fife (Adults)
These workshops are for Adults who identify as learning disabled, disabled and/ or autistic, where they explore Drama in a fun and relaxed way, with no pressure of performance or shows to work towards. Just a space to have some fun and be creative. These sessions take place at the Vine Church and Adam Smith Theatre.
DUNFERMLINE
Wednesday 10am - 12pm and 2pm - 4pm

Young Company
This is a three year training programme with the first pilot year funded by Creative Scotland where the participants will learn skills in acting, movement, music, singing and acting for camera. Sessions take place at North Edinburgh Arts, Next intake for this programme will be summer 2027

Just a space to have some fun and be creative. sessions take place at Gerrard Street Baptist Church.

Youth Theatre
This is a workshop for young learning disabled participants aged 13 - 17. In the Youth Theatre class we focus on building confidence, communication and community through drama projects such as devising, text work and movement. Sessions take place at City on a Hill (Diadem) Edinburgh.

Intermediate Groups
For those who want to train professionally in the performing arts.
This is a new Intermediate group who will learn Acting, Voice, Movement, Acting for Camera at a more advanced level.
Previous experience of performing/training is required for this group. essions take place at City on a Hill (Diadem) Edinburgh and The Vine Church Dunfermline.

These are casual drama sessions for children ages 8-12 years, classes are free to attend.
We will be exploring Drama in a fun and relaxed way, with no pressure of performances or shows to work towards. Just a space to have some fun, be creative and build confidence. Sessions are held at North Edinburgh Arts.

Young Company - Screen
Our Young Company – Screen programme for those who identify as disabled, learning disabled and/or autistic and who are aged 18-25.
Aiming to open behind-the-camera careers for disabled and neurodivergent young people, this group will learn media and filmmaking skills at entry level and sessions will be led by members of the Media Education team, who are experienced filmmakers.
Our sessions will take place in a supported and accessible environment, where we will work to make sure everyone gets the support they would like in their training.
No film and media experience is required, although it is important that applicants have an interest in this kind of work.
Sessions are held at The Space, Dalry Road. Edinburgh.
